How to reach us

The summer school will take place on the campus of the Technische Universität Darmstadt in building to be announced. The lectures will be held in room to be announced, there will be signs to guide your way. The following information should help you to find your way:

You can reach Darmstadt via Flughafen Frankfurt (FRA, 30 minutes transfer), Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN, min. 2 hour transfer) and Stuttgart Airport (STR, min. 2 hour transfer) in reasonable time. FRA is not only the largest, but also the most easily accessed airport: there are direct connections between the airport and Darmstadt’s main train station several times per hour, and the journey only takes around 30 minutes. Please mind that journeys from other airports will require up to 2h30.

Darmstadt is well connected to the German high-speed train network directly or via Frankfurt Hauptbahnhhof. Darmstadt Central Station is served by ICE, IC, EC, regional, and suburban trains at a high frequency. From there, you can reach the university easily by taking the bus (H, K, …) or tram (Line 3, direction Lichtenbergschule). For planning your journey please refer to the Deutsche Bahn AG  and rmv.

Motorists can also easily reach Darmstadt via the dense network of motorways in Germany and especially in Hesse:
Highway A5 (Frankfurt a. M. – Heidelberg/Basel)
Highway A67 (Köln/Wiesbaden – Mannheim)
Country Road B3 (from the south along the “Bergstrasse” Route)
Country Road B26 (from the east)
From all directions: Use exit “Darmstädter Kreuz” and follow the signs to „Stadtmitte“ (city center), then follow the „TU Darmstadt“ signs. Please note that only a limited number of parking spots are available at the university. You can also try to enter the following street in your GPS system:
